Are Being Protected
at the Sheep Sanctuary
THE PROJECT
Although the original intent of the Sheep Sanctuary Inc. when we began in 2004 was to exclusively provide eldercare
and hospice care for Sheep, we soon expanded to become New Mexico‘s only animal sanctuary specializing in the care of ruminants (especially Sheep and Goats) who are elderly, infirm, orphaned, unwanted, discarded or headed for slaughter.... over the years we have also provided shelter for horses, turkeys, peacocks as well as feral cats and dogs. Our daily activities include: housing, feeding, watering, medical treatment and hospice care for between 60 and 80 animals.... currently we have 77 residents.
